Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Cassileth founded the Bedford Breast Center with Dr. Leslie Memsic. She created the center to give breast cancer patients the premiere care and surgical results.
She launched her private plastic and reconstructive surgery practice, Cassileth Plastic Surgery in 2004, which is now a large group practice with four surgeons and a medical spa. She specializes in breast reconstruction and complex breast revision surgery.
She is the former Clinical Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center – a position she held for two consecutive terms.
As a top breast cancer reconstruction surgeon in Los Angeles, she mentors and trains surgical residents in the breakthrough breast reconstruction methods she herself has pioneered.
She is the creator of several key breast revision and breast reconstructions procedures. She developed one stage breast reconstruction which became the standard of care for breast cancer patients. This procedure eliminates the need for multiple surgeries for mastectomy patients and allows women to wake from surgery with their breasts. More recently, working with Dr. Richardson, she developed SWIM breast reconstruction, an implant-free breast reconstruction – an implant-free method of breast reconstruction.
She has gained renown for her accomplishments in the field of breast reconstruction revision (repair of earlier reconstruction surgeries which have failed due to cancer treatments or other causes) and is considered one of the top breast cancer surgeon world-wide.

Dr. Cassileth lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their three children.
