Skin sparing mastectomy is a surgery where the breast tissue is removed while saving the skin of the breast. During the surgery, the surgeon preserves all of the breast skin except for the nipple and areola. By doing this, it makes the breast reconstruction easier while making it so there is less scarring on the breast.
